Scene in Game

Overview

The first level of this game takes place in a child's bedroom. The user helps the child go to sleep by helping his/her toys overcome their various fears through a series of activities. The second level of the game is to be played with a hospital child life specialist. The child will have the opportunity to work through fears such as getting an IV or preparing for an operation.

Prototype

The content is integral to our overall goal of the project - which is to allow children in a hospital setting a safe place to talk about and feel their fears. Very often children in a hospital don't have the skills to verbalize their fears. Allowing the toys to embody everyday fears provides a safe way for children to talk about being afraid. In addition the specialist assisted level allow professionals an additional tool to explain scary things like getting an IV placed. child's room with a teddy lamp afraid of the dark and a toy frog afraid of heights

This is a Flash based interactive game that was hand-drawn in both Illustrator and Flash. Sounds were mixed in Pro Tools The user uses a mouse to navigate around the game. plasma display wireless keyboard hospital bed 15 f eet
